Obama still does not get it

American politics is an amusing blood sport to watch. Like President Bush before him, Obama is now the one Democrats don't want to be seen with in an election year. Not even a mere photo-op ala Charlie Crist.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Obama does not have the pulse of the nation. He clearly avoids siding with the American people in his belief that he has the greater wisdom. Such is the way of the fools' errand.

President Obama waded into the NYC mosque controversy, and it was not good.

Millions of Americans are upset that a mosque is being built so close to Ground Zero. Mr. President, there is no changing the majority's view of Islam as being diabolically responsible for the attacks on September 11, 2001. No mosque should be built there, period.

Perhaps New York City's labor unions can have a say here, and not work on such a project no matter how much their union members stand to gain.

Here's where NYC's labor can do for America what Obama, Mayor Bloomberg, Governor Patterson, and the state legislature, city council, the community board and the Landmarks Preservation Commission refused to do for all of us Americans. And, that is to take a strong stand against the Islamization of Ground Zero.

  1. LEE, YOU DON'T GET IT!

You, being a Latino, surprise me. All that was taken from the Native Americans and Africans and celebrated with the erection of some long-haired european Jesus statue or a damn cross and you sit there like some racist xenophobe white man and talk about how offended YOU are? FOR WHAT??? You remind me of Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks cartoon. Always ready to defend the 'Mans' crusade.

Personally, I do question the determination of the developers (one of which is good ole American CON ED) and I would like a clear, concise answer on why that location, but to place a ban on a mosque in the area, is hypocritical of a country that has hundreds of military bases, missile silos, American flags, crosses, Christian missionaries and heart attack causing McDonalds all over Africa, South America, Iraq, South Korea, Japan, Panama, etc.

And lets not forget that huge bombed out wasteland called Vieques.

    Lee, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!

  2. And when I said "XENOPHOBE white man" I meant no offense to my 'normal', neutral, leftist, non-Republican, liberal or Revolutionary Communist white friends and associates.

  3. Corey, if you don't like American Fast Food, don't patronize them.

Christian missionaries are doing wonderful work throughout the world, helping the diseased, correcting physical anomalies in people, educating the poor, building irrigation, and feeding them too. All without a gun, too.

    Lastly, thank you, Cristobal Colon.

  4. Lee you say the president "waded" into the mosque controversy as if he had a say-so in the matter and just cut everyone off. Something only Repuliban loonies would come up with. First lets look at what Obama actually said on Friday: "As a citizen, and as president, I
    believe that Muslims have the
same right to practice their religion
as everyone else in this country. That includes the right to build a
place of worship and a community
center on private property in lower
    Manhattan, in accordance with local
    laws and ordinances. This
is America, and our commitment to
    religious freedom must be
    unshakable."
Now I would love to hear how Obama "waded." He said it like it is. The president cannot violate the US Constitution with respect to the Freedom of Religion protected by the 1st Amendment. Just like you are protected by the same amendment when you post your idiosyncracies on how the president "waded."
On top of that, New York State laws are governed by its legislatures, congressmen, the mayor and the governor. Not the President.
This is typical Republican sneaky politics when they know theyre losing a race. Put Obama on the spotlight and ask him how he feels about the mosque knowing that he cannot undermine the constitution. So that people like you can write your blogs and make the president look like he condones terrorism or whatever you Republican losers try and come up with. Mayor Bloomberg, who DOES have a say so in the matter with respect to
property laws in Manhattan, gets no criticism. Yet, millions of Americans are mad at Obama? Doesnt speak much about our country's intelligence does it? I mean you mention Cristobal Colon
while talking about America as if he was the one who discovered America. Just like millions of dumb Americans in this country, they dont do their research and learn that Ferdinand and Isabella had so much money, they were able to rewrite history. And its because of their wealth that Columbus takes credit for discovering America when in fact America got its name from the man who really discovered it-his name, Amerigo Vespucci. Amerigo, italian for America. Yea thank you Cristobal Colon! For what? I know what you can thank him for.
    Bringing small pox
    and syphilis
    into the New World.
I bet you didnt know that one either being too busy trying to act like whitey. Listen to Corey and wake up. Its you who just dont get it.

  5. Edwin, again, President Obama missed the main point over this Ground Zero mosque controversy. One, it is not a Republican-inspired issue, but one in which Americans have voiced strong opposition to because Americans were targeted on September 11, 2001.

This issue is not about the right to practice one's religion freely. It is about the muslim community building a mosque less than 500 feet from Ground Zero. The question a majority of Americans are asking is: Why build a mosque there?

As for Mayor Bloomberg's support for the mosque, if you haven't read any criticism of him over this by Americans, then you are not doing your homework, and I suggest start researching.

We're not asking the government to intervene in prohibiting the erection of this edifice. That would be bad for all of us. However, why should the mosque be built there? Why can't Faisal Abdul Rauf build it elsewhere and not close to Ground Zero?

Lastly, as for my Cristobal Colon point, you can always go back to wherever it is you feel you need to live so long as it's not in the Americas because Colon led the way there.

You don't sound like a smart individual, Ed. I know more about history than you think.

    "Edwin, again, President Obama

One, it is not a Republican-inspired
issue, but one in which Americans

    because Americans were targeted
    on September 11, 2001.
This issue is not about the right to

    about the muslim community
building a mosque less than 500
    feet from Ground Zero. The
    question a majority of Americans
are asking is: Why build a mosque
    there?
    "
And that is true. It is about the
    Americans asking why build a
    mosque
close to Ground Zero. But you state
    in your opening paragraph that
    Obama "avoids siding with the
American people in his belief of
    having
greater wisdom" and that is a strike
at Obama speculating that he's on
the side of muslims or terrorist.
Just because he is president doesnt
mean that he has to side with the
    American people. Imagine if thats
    the
way it was. Then Obama would
have to bring back lynching and Jim
    Crow
laws because he has to side with
    the Americans.
This is not for the President to
    decide what should be built
    anything
and anywhere in New York State.
    Thats for the Governor, mayor,
    senators
    and congressman. Its always the
president who gets looked at in
situations that have nothing to do
    with him.
    "As for Mayor Bloomberg's support
for the mosque, if you haven't read
any criticism of him over this by
Americans, then you are not doing
    your homework, and I suggest
    start researching.
    "
No you dont need to suggest
anything thank you very much. But
    why are
    all the Republican commentators,
    bloggers, Fox, Rush, etc only
    mentioning Obamas name in this
matter. Did you write an entire blog
    on
    how Bloomberg is avoiding the
    American people? Touché!
    "We're not asking the government
    to intervene in prohibiting the
erection of this edifice. That would
be bad for all of us. However, why
should the mosque be built there?
    "
Well thats what town halls are for
isnt it? To discuss matters that are
of concern to the citizens in the
    community where a situation is
    causing a problem. Republicans sure
had no problem raiding town halls
and yelling about death panels and
    Sarah Palins grandson when the
    healthbill was being proposed. How
is this any different? I know how
    its different. Because the congress
election is 2 months away and how
nice it would be to attack Obama
and the dems saying they support
    terrorists blablabla. Thats not so
    hard to figure out.
"Why can't Faisal Abdul Rauf build it
elsewhere and not close to Ground
    Zero?
    "
Again good question. But why aim it
at the President? Ask the mayor or
the governor. Or at a townhall
meeting? If the republicans want to
    ask
    the president a question they
should ask Bush why he hired him
    as a
    peace negotiater in the middle
east? If it wasnt for Bush, all of this
    wouldnt be happening.
"Lastly, as for my Cristobal Colon
point, you can always go back to
wherever it is you feel you need to
live so long as it's not in the

    history than you think."
Well thats so easy to say but Im a
little stupid. See i like to be
convinced with proof and not what
    someone says. Another problem
    with
    republicans and libertarians is that
    they tell wonderful stories with
no reference. And if they do provide
a source, when i check the source,
    its always a conservative source.
    never non-partisan

  8. Edwin, you're too irrational to engage in a debate with me. The Office of the President is the embodiment of the American people. He mus listen to them and understand them. Unfortunately, he doesn't. A very large majority of Americans (liberals, conservatives and independents) do not support a mosque being built so close to Ground Zero. Period.

Lastly, no American is asking to bring back lynching or Jim Crow. Be serious or don't write me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I am very serious I dont know where you think I am joking. Ok so your claim is "the office of the President is the embodiment of the American people. He is to listen and understand them. Unfortunately, he doesnt." Well he did listen and he understood. And he answered. He answered within the guidelines of the Constitution and the property laws of New York. Youre the expert right? Im just an irrational individual that is not so smart right? So tell me doesnt the President take an oath when he gets sworn? And in that oath doesnt he say " I do hereby swear to preserve, project and defend the Constitution of the United States"? So if he were to ignore his oath to be "the embodiment of the people," then he wouldnt be doing his job. You cannot say he didnt understand them just because he didnt sing their praises. It doesnt matter if the entire planet does not support a mosque being built near ground zero. He took an oath and if he broke that oath then the Republicans will cry impeachment. Regardless, the Supreme Court would not allow it because it would be a violation of the 1st Amendment. This is what you fail to recognize and this is very important. He by "listen and understand" you mean violate the constitution, you're wrong. But again, that is what townhall meetings are for. There is a chain of command to follow and nobody is following it. This is a property issue. The president does not command city property laws. Why are the people getting the president involved in a city issue? This makes no sense at all.

  10. Edwin, although your explanation is long (whew), I agree. Lee, you and your Republican masters intentionally try to tie President Obama to the Muslim faith. Its pretty sad and definitely pathetic. If anyone was close to the Saudis (meaning, SAudi Arabia...birth place of the 9/11 terrorists), it was your man George W Bush. I mean, no other Party in the world was tied to Muslim Extremism like the Republican Party. The bottom line? I wouldn't PERSONALLY even want to build a Mosque that close to an area now infamous with Extremism, BUT....BUT....the Ku Klux Klan style protests and anti-Islamic "We are going to burn the Qu'ran" themed book-burnings are doing nothing but serving the recruiters of both disgruntled Islamic Americans as well as white and black Americans.

That John Wayne George C Scott General Patton "GO America and fuck the rest" crap you spew sounds good and would make a blow hard like W. Bush proud, but the long term ramifications are a legacy of new/old hate that will last throughout our childrens entire lifetime.

  13. Edwin (Sam), we're not asking the government to use it's power to force Faisel Abdul Rauf to move. We want Rauf and his fellow brand of Muslim Brotherhood to move themselves out of that sacred area. No one is talking about abrogating the right to worship. We want them to come to the conclusion that for the sake of peace, go somewhere else. Surely, having the support of the president would have gone a long way. Again, not saying the president use his power to force the move, but to convey the anger of the American people to Rauf. But, I doubt you understand what all this means.

Corey, you still trippin? Six Christians were kidnapped and killed in Afghanistan a few weeks ago providing medical aid there. Some were working there for over 30 years helping the people there. Innocent Christians are killed and tortured every day around the world, many by Muslims or Hindus. Dude, I really think you need to loosen up a bit. What do you think would happen if all Christian missionaries were to leave Africa, Asia and Latin America? Here's a suggestion, cast that bad chip off your shoulder and open your eyes a bit more. You're far too delusional at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well Lee the US has 50,000 US troops on Muslim soil in Iraq trying to change their way of living. If putting a mosque a few blocks away from Ground Zero is such a terrible nightmare and a disgrace to the American people, then maybe its not Corey who is delusional, its you and people who think like you. Because I have yet to see one complaint, one blog, one anything about that. Just anything you republican/libertarians can try and make democrats look bad for. Which after yesterdays "coincidential" ralley by Beck and Palin, you can call this election a rap for republicans. This nation was disgusted by your racist scum mentors.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Edwin (Sam Crespo), we've got troops on more than one Muslim nation. Guess you forgot Afghanistan, Djibouti, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen. But then again, you're not much of a challenge on the intellectual plain.

As for that Patriotic rally to Restore Honor in America, that was great, wasn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh man you are a joke and a half ROFL! Do you even think before you write? Do you think at all? Lets backtrack:
I stated that all this nonsense about Americans being angry about a mosque being built near ground zero is bull. Its bull because we have 50,000 troops in Iraq telling them how they should run their country, and there hasnt been one complaint on that. And instead of trying to quash my statement with a valid point, all you do is prove my point even more lol. Thank you very much that was very kind of you.
So now I can rephrase my statement thanks to your input. If we have 50,000 troops in Iraq, and more troops in Afghan, Kuwait, Yemen, Djibouti, and Bahrain, then where are the complaints? Where are the bloggers? Where is FoxNews? Where are the teabaggers? Why isnt anyone whining that us being in all of these countries is a slap in the face to America? Where is YOUR blog condemning the President on this matter? You see how this is all bullshit made up by Republicans because they know that Obama cannot violate the Constitution. There is nothing he can do. So they put him on the spotlight and when he explains it to the dumb republicans that it is their first amendment right to build a mosque there, the leaders of these idiots go back to their Fox newsrooms and tell their retarded audience that Obama supports terrorists, he doesnt listen to the American people. All to try and get the undecided and democrats as well to see it their way and vote GOP in November. Its not gonna work. Dems arent
    stupid.
And you unintentionally just further proved my point by reminding me of all the other muslim countries we're in and not one nagging comment. Then you say that I am no challenge to your intellect lmao this is so funny but sad at the same time.
And you think Becks rally was great, doesnt surprise me at all.

  17. Smart ass, still waiting for an idiotic response. After all it IS your blog. I just love when republicants try and make me look like the dumb one and always end up being the stupid ass in their own site lmao. "The president is the embodiment of the people" lol. WTF does that have to do with violating the first amendment which he or noone cant do!? But then again, youre not much of a challenge in the intellectual plain roflmao!
