Democratic strategist and Clintonista, James Carville, spoke to Politico about Obama's economic plan: "They believe that they have to say what they are doing is working, but let me tell you, that's annoying the hell out of people. No one thinks it's true. It irritates people who are out there struggling and just feeds this perception that they are out of touch."
You heard it here, Obama will face a Democratic primary. Who will be the one taking the plunge? Hillary? Out-going Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana? Will Obama even make it to the primary if a challenger shows impressive polling numbers?

Worry about your sad little "JUST SAY NO" party and how they are infighting with Tea Bagging members. There will be no Dem Primary and what you need to do is pray Sarah Palin does not run and LOSE in the general.
ReplyDeleteI still have yet to hear one idea that the GOP has put forth other than protecting rich folks money by extending the BUSH tax cuts. Tell Boehner to get rid of that "Corporate use only" tattoo over his butt-cheeks and then we'll talk.
What the Tea Party is doing to the GOP is no different than what the few remaining conservative Democrats are doing to the Democrat party. There's infighting going on in both major parties.
ReplyDeleteThe Tea Party, however, is a force to be reckoned with within the GOP as their numbers are significant as compared to the conservative Democrats.
Mind you, Godwell, that the Democrat victory in 2006 came as a result of the Democrats running candidates who were conservative in conservative House districts. Because these conservative Democrats continued voting with Pelosi these past four years, further angering their conservative base, the House Democrats took a whipping in the 2010 midterm election.
That being said, President Obama now has to watch every step he makes since he has to negotiate with the GOP House. The GOP comprehends the political realities, and if they want to remain in the majority, not piss off the Tea Party just as Obama has to watch his own hard left base which is very annoyed at him.
Obama recently spoke to the US Chamber, but his speech received lukewarm support given the hostility of the past election in which the Obama Administration launched into a diatribe against the Chamber for allegedly using foreign funds to attack Democrat candidates. Not of it was proven.
Here is a suggestion. Do read Roll Call, the Weekly Standard, Newsweek and various other publications to see what the GOP, and specifically the House, is planning over the 112th Session. Then get back to me with something of substance. Until then.....
Obama won't face a primary challenge. Why? His party has been hijacked by liberals. You can see this by the way the dems who still hold the senate are behaving - not a single defector in their ranks came forward to vote with the republicans on the House's bill to repeal Obamacare. Also evidenced more locally by the pusillanimous flight from responsibility from both Wisconsin and Indiana state legislators. Plus they control much of the media. B.O. is their boy.
ReplyDeleteIf conservatives,i.e., moderate, straight thinking, average Americans are to win back the White House in '12 then they need to start messaging with something new and real.
Enter the middle of the road, common sense Tea Party. Today's divide in America is not Left vs Right...both of which are obfuscations of reality. Americans really don't give a shit about issues like gays in the military, whether Obama was born in America or not, etc.
Average Americans know deep down inside these are contrived by a rigged political system that is deeply in bed with big money, be it Wall Street $$$ or union $$$.
Americans are coming to turns with the stark reality that they are stuck shouldering the financial and political whims of a self serving, self perpetuating, ever expanding and blatant plutocracy run amok and without consequence.
What to do?
Keep electing guys like Rand Paul and Scott Walker for one. Two, revolt. How? Take their play book, Rules for Radical and turn it on them.
God Bless America....the one my immigrant parents came to.
